In 2014, a record year for U.S. craft beer sales, four San Diego County craft breweries ranked among the nation's 50 largest.

Escondido's Stone Brewing Co. is now ninth in the country. Three local breweries followed: Ballast Point, 31st; Karl Strauss, 45th; and Green Flash, making its debut on this list, 48th.

All four companies are poised for further growth. Stone plans to open breweries in Berlin and Richmond, Va., in 2016; Ballast Point opened a large new facility in Miramar late last year; Karl Strauss is actively looking for a new production facility; while Green Flash opened a barrel-aging facility last year and plans to open a second full-scale brewery in Virginia Beach, Va., late this year.

In 2014, the Brewers Association reports, U.S. craft breweries had a 22 percent increase in the value of its sales, and 18 percent growth by volume.

◇30대 그룹 순익 5년만에 반토막…4대그룹 번 돈이 92%= 61개 집단의 매출액은 1505조1000억원으로 전년에 비해 30조5000억원 감소했다. 2013년 4월 1539조원을 기록한 뒤 2년째 감소세다. 지난해에 이어 연속지정된 60개 기업집단만 봐도 매출액이 26조7000억원(-1.7%) 줄었다.

그나마 좋은 성적표는 재무구조다. 61개 집단의 부채비율은 101.1%로 전년(103.7%) 대비 2.6%포인트 감소했다. 2008년 4월(98.3%) 이후 최저치다. 민간집단의 부채비율은 81.4%로 줄었다. 2011년 92.3%였던 30대그룹의 부채비율은 79.9%로 떨어졌다. 4대그룹의 부채비율은 75.0%에서 59.4%로 줄었다. 지난해 부채 감축 노력을 벌인 공기업 집단의 부채비율은 185.1%로 1.3%p 줄었다.
