인텔이 PC시장 침체와 모바일 산업에 잘못대응한 결과로 결국 layoff까지 빼 들었습니다. 11% 12000명. 숫자상으로는 인텔 역사상 최대규모라고 보여집니다. 아직 잘 나가는 분야가 있고 IoT는 잘 대응하고 있으니 이번만 잘 넘기면 다시 위대한 기업으로 돌아갈수 있을거라 믿습니다.


장을 마치자 마자 어닝을 발표며 인력 구조조정 계획도 같이 발표했는데, 시장도 인텔의 미래를 긍정적으로 보는지, 시간외에서 2%만 하락했습니다.



과거 구조조정이 궁금해서 서치해봤습니다.

2006년에 대규모 구조조정이 있었고요. 9500 + 1000 = 10500명

2009년에도 공장을 닫으면서 대규모 감원도 있었고요. 6000명

2014년 1월에 5000명.

2015년 6월에도 대규모 정리. 미국에서만 1155명.

Intel: 

In 2006, Intel announced a major restructuring that included the layoff of 9,500 employees, and an additional 1,000 managerial jobs. 

Then in 2009, Intel closed chip plants, resulting in up to 6,000 layoffs.


2015년 layoff에 관련된 자세한 기사도 있네요. 오레건에서만 2만명가까이 고용하고 있는 최대 기업인데, 이런 기업이 휘청하면 지역경제가 완전 바닥으로 떨어지겠지요.

60세가 넘는 비율도 13%나 되네요. 이런 연령때에서도 일할수 있다니 정말 대단하네요.
